Barrossa valley-the land of Wine and Port.
The Barrossa Valley is 0nly 70 km north of Adelaide, it has to be Australias most famous wine region. The Barossa Valley has a strong German heritage and therefore i have always been very interested to see it. Now if you love your wine and port and you are in the Barossa Valley that’s great, but if you have two kids in tow that complain every half hour “why are we here, why do you always have to drink wine (and i really don’t), why do you never do anything for us and so on, you get the drift,it makes wine tasting not as much fun as i had hoped. Anyway we managed to drag our two kids through 3 wine cellars bought 3 bottles of wine and 1 bottle of port and left to find something slightly more appealing to our kids.
What we found was a free youth fun fair, because it was International Youth Week in the park of Nuriootpa, not far from Tanunda. We couldn’t have organized it better if we tried, free bungie jumping, DJ, concerts, an amazing drum solo by this most amazing kid who was referred to as kev or something, well the special thing was that he had no hands the drum sticks were strapped to his arms, incredibly talented kid. He was so fast, it just shows. …. that anything is possible.![youth week fun at Barossa valley 002 [nicis-resize]](http://www.divinityemporium.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/youth-week-fun-at-Barossa-valley-002-nicis-resize-150x150.jpg)
We also got free kiddie cocktails and games with prices to win, which they did. Orlando won a wheelbarrow race, he didn’t actually have to race against anybody so yes he was a clear winner, and Ayesha won the do the chicken dance for what felt like eternity, she was the only one still going. Haha, Ayesha has always been my little dancing queen.
